One of the biggest concerns people have when it comes to concrete floors is how to effectively clean them.

Fortunately, removing stains from concrete floors is not as difficult or complicated as it seems.

Here are some stain removal tips that can help you.

Remove Paint Stains

Timing is everything when it comes to paint stains on concrete floors. For best results, action should be taken as soon as possible.

In the event of a recent spill, first put on goggles to protect your eyes, then mix one cup of trisodium phosphate (TSP) with four liters of hot water. Pour the mixture over the paint, scrub with a long brush and pressure rinse until the stain is removed.

Unfortunately, if the leak is large, small traces of color will always remain in the concrete.

Remove the oil

Oil stains are some of the ugliest and most long-lasting stains. If possible, try to soak up the oil as soon as you find it so it doesn't soak into the concrete.

Believe it or not, the best thing to do against fresh grease stains is to pour kitty litter or mud over them and scrub with a stiff brush or broom. Leave the kitty litter or mud on the stain for at least an hour before sweeping up. For the most stubborn stains, leave it on overnight.

If that doesn't work, mix a cup of TSP with hot water and pour over the stain. Let sit for at least 30 minutes, then scrub with a stiff nylon brush and pressure wash.

Remove mud stains

When mud is left on concrete floors for too long, it can leave unsightly brown stains. Fortunately, it is one of the easiest stains to remove. Simply mix some dish soap and hot water in a spray bottle, shake well, and spray on the stain. Let sit for about 10 minutes, then scrub with a nylon brush and rinse with a high pressure hose.

Remove rust

Unfortunately, rust on concrete is difficult to completely remove. Old, large rust usually requires a special rust remover. But for newer, smaller rust stains, vinegar is best.

Just pour it on the stain, let it sit for at least 10 minutes, then scrub with a nylon brush, its acid will attack the rust. It may be necessary to rinse and repeat the process.
